Rough diamonds 

Dancing in air, 

Scattered and strewn, 

Elusive. Infinite. 

Breath through lips, 

Lingering. 

A yellow coat, 

Loose thread on 

The shoulder. 

Intrusive. 

Sewn and stitched

By hands unfamiliar. 

Head tilts. 

Gold earrings 

Dangling. 

A rain-flecked face

Crooked,

Grinning, 

Exhaling air like whispers.
