Nanotourism: Reconceptualising our mode of mass tourism

The current modern mode of mass tourism is in urgent need of reconceptualisation. The relatively new concept of nanotourism encourages “creative critique to the current environmental, social and economic downsides of conventional tourism, as a participatory, locally oriented, bottom-up alternative”. Can it solve our current international tourism dilemma?
