Gig preview: The Barbershop Sessions – Nick Wallis, Olivia Devine, Louellice

New live music website Gigiti have announced their second Barbershop Session line-up.

This follows the success of the debut barbershop session held back in February which was sold out. The intimate gig will be held at Rusty’s Barbershop on Friday 24th April. The line-up includes rising star of the London folk scene Nick Wallis, 17 year old Newcastle singer-songwriter Olivia Devine and Durham student acoustic folk trio Louellice.

Nick Wallis is one of the most exciting guitarists emerging onto the scene. He continually pushes the boundaries of what is possible with the acoustic guitar. With a range of influences from Flamenco, Jazz, Soul, and Folk Nick Wallis combines an immense talent for the guitar with a distinguished voice. He is sure to leave you speechless.

Olivia Devine

You’d be forgiven for thinking that Olivia Devine is older than here seventeen years. The Whitley Bay singer-songwriter has the complete package – an impressive voice, skillful guitar playing and a knack for writing incredibly catchy pop songs. One thing is for sure, Olivia Devine is set for big things so make sure you catch this growing talent at Rusty’s before she becomes huge.

Louellice are a Durham based acoustic folk trio. This all female line-up are known for their tight-knit close harmony vocals and the range of instruments they use. Drawing upon influences such as Eva Cassidy and The Staves, Louellice have become an established act on the student scene in a relatively short time proving they have serious talent.
