Foreign nationals are fleeing the uprising in Libya while protesters close in on Tripoli, one of the only cities still under government control.
A plane chartered by BP and others arrived at Gatwick airport earlier today, carrying 78 passengers. A government-chartered flight left for Tripoli at 2200 GMT yesterday. At that time, there were around 300 Britons remaining in Libya’s capital, with a further 170 British oil workers gathering elsewhere in the country.
