The teams were tied with three minutes to go

Durham’s University Challenge team beat York University to reach the quarter finals of the competition yesterday (17 November).

Then York stepped up the pace, and the gap narrowed so that with three minutes to go both teams were tied on 165.

Arise DMT.

Daniel Morgan-Thomas took two more starter questions for Durham, while the Durham captain, Fred Harvey, took a third after two incorrect answers from York.

Durham won 210–160. It remains to be seen if they can replicate the success of the university’s last winning team in 2000.
