Photographing the “White Walls” Open Event

The General Editors

Empty Shop Gallery saw witness to one of the greatest open events that Durham has yet witnessed last week when felt tip fought brush in open combat upon the battlefield of pristine white walls. As the clean up continues, we can now take stock of the subversive statements, poetic lyrics, striking caricatures and other non-descript daubings that unleashed themselves when the Bubble’s writers and readers alike took brush in hand. Hopefully these photos will act as a reminder of how psychedelic cartoons developed into a transient tapestry, ultimately to be expunged.

On a happier note, we call all photography enthusiasts!

Want to see your photos gracing the (web)pages of The Bubble? A brand new monthly photography competition is due to be launched next week and the winner and two runners up will have their photographs featured on the site. We’ll also be adding those and other honourable mentions to a set on our Flickr page. If you’re interested, stay tuned to the photography section of the site or drop us an e-mail to photography@thebubble.org.uk to be added to our mailing list.
